“We were really lucky with the weather. We only hiked part of the PR1 (as the rest of it is shut). It was quite busy with lots of tourists. The PR3 trail we went on after was much quieter and the scenery was beautiful. Watching the sunrise at pick do ariero was amazing, good transport and all in all lovely trip that was worth the money.”

“Fabulous trip, early start but you get a great spot for the sunrise. And the stars are amazing such a clear view of the sky. Great conditions so saw the sunrise above the clouds , amazing view. Take layers as it’s quite cool early on in the morning got to the top at 0615 and the sunrise was 0735 so take a few snacks and a drink. I wore trainers and was fine the trail is very dry so trainers were fine. I do a lot of hikes in the Lake District, so it wasn’t difficult just a lot of downhill on the PR3 section on dusty paths. “The hike itself is amazing on a clear day. Views along the way are incredible. Pickup was prompt and accommodating. As a slower walker I can confirm I prefer self guided walks vs walking at a faster than comfortable pace. As the path is rocky, being mindful of your steps is key. I feel fortunate to have experienced the island away from the clusters of people.”

“The forest and scenery is beautiful! Personally I preferred the 25 Fontes and Risco waterfalls but the Caldeirão Verde waterfall is still pretty (just felt more crowded). If you are a bit anxious about heights just be mindful the last little stretch might make you a bit nervous (worth pushing through though). When it gets busy the paths are tight so letting people past is tricky. Luis was awesome at giving us insights to from the hike.”

Numbers limited so you will get a good experience. The waterfalls and scenery were beautiful and the walk itself was mostly ok with a few harder climbs on steps. I would really recommend this walk and company.”
